Announcement

We are extremely pleased to announce the acquisition of Analytical Specialties, Inc. (ASI), by Yokogawa Corporation of America (YCA).

This is an exciting announcement for both ASI and Yokogawa, and especially for our customers and partners. It brings the industry leading TruePeak Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) products, and the Advanced Reflux Sampler (ARS) into a global organization with world class service, support and distribution.

ASI will become the new “Laser Analysis” division of Yokogawa. We will remain in our current facilities, and retain our employees, with planned addition of more staff to keep pace with our rapid growth.

We will be contacting you over the next few weeks to discuss this. For now, please rest assured that Yokogawa will retain and expand the key goals of customer satisfaction and delivering customer solutions that ASI has been known for.

ASI’s TDLS Technology

ASI was established in 1994 and has developed the TruePeak family of laser based analyzers . TDL enables the direct high-speed measurement of many important process gases, including combustion by-products, impurities and oxygen in many chemical and refining operations. ASI’s TruePeak TDLS analyzer utilizes a very promising and proprietary peak area integration method that offers both high measurement accuracy and repeatability compared to other commonly used products.

Yokogawa’s Strategy

Satoru Kurosu, Senior Vice President of the Industrial Automation Business Headquarters, says, “To achieve the top position in the global industrial automation market by 2010, Yokogawa has announced its VigilantPlant vision for the ideal plant, and this TDL technology enhances our VigilantPlant solution portfolio.”

Mr. Kurosu also says, “We consider that technologies and products focusing on energy saving and environmental conservation will continue to play an important role. Therefore, we aim to expand our lineup of sensors used in analytical processes, and to enhance our capability to offer solutions over the entire lifecycle of a plant that also address the need for energy saving and environmental conservation.”
